I'm sooo excited!

Just a quick post to tell you all (I think there are at least five of you now :)) that I'm having a Jessie Spano moment (but without the pills). My parents, having just returned from a long needed vacation (their first without kids), begin dishing out all the souveniers that they generously brought back for us. Just as my mother is about to finish taking things out of her suitcases (it was like a clown car) she says to me:

"Oh, Adam, I have one more thing, but it's kind of a joke gift....."

She says: "I bought you vanilla from mexico"



For those that aren't aware, Mexican vanilla is widely considered the best vanilla, with a richer more intense flavour than the vanilla we typically use. And how much did she spend on an entire litre of this vanilla? TEN BUCKS! TEN WHOLE DOLLARS FOR 1000ml... I spend ten dollars on 125ml. INSANE!

So like I said, I'm having a Spano moment trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to use this most sacred of vanillas :). And the vanilla powder? I don't even know where to start with that! I'm thinking maybe vanilla cupcakes with some vanilla frosting? Maybe some good ol' fashioned vanilla ice cream? The possibilities are endless :) (and tasty).

Joke gift my behind, this could be one of the best gifts I've ever received. What can I say, I'm a cheap date :).
